The Smith family bought this property with it's two barns to live out their retirement. They gave an extensive renovation to the main barn so they could use it as their residence. During the renovation they lived in a garage apartment which they had built on the property.
On Thanksgivings Mr. and Mrs. Smith host their three children's families quite comfortably. Although the property is about three hours from the nearest airport.

I-77 runs just west of Hillsville, intersecting with I-81 ten miles north of the Carroll County line. With direct interstate access in all directions, Hillsville lies within a day's drive of half the United States' population.
